| Ausable Chasm - Route 9, Keeseville, NY. Only 15 miles away. Step back in time as you walk the nature trails in the midst of the Adirondack Forest. Stroll pass Rainbow Falls, Elephant's Head, Column Rock, Hyde's Cave and Mystic Gorge. Descend hundreds of feet and walk the natural stone walkways within the chasm and gaze upon eons of geologic history etched in stone. Take a scenic raft or tube adventure on the legendary waters of the river through a maze of breathtaking rock formations sculpted across thousands of years by the river's currents. Ausable Chasm is as breathtaking today as it was 400 years ago when Samuel De Champlain first explored the Champlain Valley. There are chasms, waterfalls, trails, caverns, cave tours and river rafting for your enjoyment. Horseback riding, mini horses and wagon rides have just been added to this summer's events. |
